Carlsberg Gold is the latest edition to the Carlsberg family of beers.
In 2007, Carlsberg Malaysia celebrated Carlsberg's 160th anniversary year and commemorated the occasion with the 160th Anniversary Brew. To meet the overwhelming response from consumers, the limited edition Anniversary Brew was re-launched permanently as Carlsberg Gold in 2008.
A Successful Relaunch
Carlsberg Gold was successfully launched in August, in big and small bottles, available in 5,000 refreshment and drinking outlets. Supported by media campaign focused on the product's quality credentials and extensive product sampling in coffee shops and food courts, Carlsberg Gold achieved high awareness and recorded high trials.
Preferred Beer Brand
Complementing the promotional activities, a series of "Carlsberg Gold Nights" were rolled out nationwide and these on-ground events generated encouraging response from many consumers and this led to a strong brand momentum. Within five months of its launch, Carlsberg Gold became part of the Malaysia consumer repertoire and the preferred beer brand for many.
In October, Carlsberg Gold participated in the Malaysia International Gourmet Festival 2008 as the official beer sponsor. Carlsberg Gold was widely sampled as the perfect accompaniment to gourmet food. Attended by members of media and chefs from the country's best restaurants, Carlsberg Gold received excellent reviews for its smoothness and richness.
