Carlsberg was crowned the 5th Runner-up at the 13th annual Chinese New Year (CNY) greeting advertisement award organised by China Press and Nanyang Siang Pau. Carlsberg Malaysia ushered in the Year of the Rabbit by bringing the essence and traditions of the Chinese culture to life with Hei (Happiness) being featured in its advertisement. The award was voted by readers of the two local Chinese newspapers. Carlsberg Malaysia was the only alcoholic beverage brand to have received the award.
