Top Ten Charity Campaign, the flagship community project of Carlsberg Malaysia, is back on the mission of fund raising for the betterment and development of education. The official launch event was held on Wednesday, 21 April at Redbox Karaoke, The Gardens mall.
The Launch of Top Ten Charity 2014 formally introduced the line-up of artists and its new partnership with radio station Melody FM. In addition, Top Ten also announced its continued partnership with MY FM and Red Box & Green Box Karaoke with special acknowledgement to the fund-raising roadshow’s long-standing organisers Nanyang Siang Pau and China Press for sharing the same vision as Carlsberg Malaysia.
Among the eight performing artistes, (from left to right) Hao Ren, Orange Tan Amy Wong and Peace Teo made a special appearance for the Launch. The other four artistes who have also been appointed as ambassadors of each beneficiary school include Joe, Vicky Tan, Pink Tan and Qing Yong.
Recognised by the Malaysian Book of Records as “the longest running and highest fund raising charity show” in Malaysia, the campaign has definitely evolved with various improvements. Last year, it ran a “Parent-Child” or
“Teacher-Student” singing competition and given its overwhelming response, it will be featured again this year. Top Ten introduces a new programme this year, which is a story telling competition on the theme of “My Childhood Memory in School”. It will be held alongside the singing competition this year. Since the story telling competition is open to secondary school students, teens can explore their creative side while resonating with the younger students.
At the press conference, Carlsberg Malaysia MD Hendrik Anderson said, “I am pleased that Top Ten has successfully raised more than RM400 million benefitting approximately 600 schools and higher learning institutions over the last 27 years. Our heartfelt appreciation goes to all our dedicated partners for your continuous support. I am sure with your support; Top Ten will scale to greater heights.”
