Malaysia’s No. 1 Wears Carlsberg Logo With Pride

The country’s top professional golfer, Danny Chia has received further impetus to perform well at this week’s Maybank Malaysian Open by becoming an ambassador for Carlsberg. His impressive victories throughout his professional career have given Malaysia’s most preferred beer brand, an opportunity to work with him.

At the recent announcement of his appointment as ambassador for Carlsberg also shared that Danny Chia will carry the Carlsberg logo on his left collar during the MMO 2013. During the MMO 2013 on 22 March, Carlsberg also announced that Malaysia’s top professional golfer, Danny Chia, has been appointed Ambassador of the 2013 Carlsberg Golf Classic.

He commented, “It is wonderful to receive this kind of support from Carlsberg during one of the most important weeks’ of my year. Carlsberg are one of the biggest supporters of golf in Malaysia and I will work hard to represent their brand to the best of my abilities”.

The Malaysian star’s outstanding achievements include becoming the first player from his country to play all four rounds in the Open Championship, in 2010. He is also the first Malaysian to win on the Asian Tour, something he achieved in 2002 at the Taiwan Open. He has twice been voted Malaysia’s golfer of the year, in 2010 and 2011, and is also a two-time winner on the ASEAN PGA Tour. Chia also played in the Open Championship in 2005 and 2008 and has competed for Malaysia in the World Cup on numerous occasions.
