The highly anticipated fashion festival has returned, promising bigger and better designs and ideas. Mercedes-Benz-Stylo Fashion Grand Prix KL 2013 kicked off in style with the theme “Mannequin Fantasies” on 17 March at the new Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral which simultaneously launched the impending Asia Fashion Week (AFW) and the Rainforest Fashion Initiative (RFI).

VIP guests who were present at the event were Tourism Minister Dato’ Sri Dr Ng Yen Yen, international fashion icon Dato’ Jimmy Choo OBE, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia president and CEO Roland Folger as well as Stylo International president and CEO Datuk Nancy Yeoh. They were joined by sponsors represented by president and CEO of Ireka Properties Lai Voon Hon, Visa Inc Malaysia Country Manager Stuart Tomlinson and MD Soren Ravn who represented Kronenbourg 1664 as the official beverage.

The evening's highlight was the fashion showcase by AFW designers featuring S Nine from Hong Kong, Sapto Djojokartik from Indonesia, and Eric Delos Santos from the Philippines and Malaysian representatives Alvin Tay, Justin Yap, Kashfi Zulkifli, Amir Luqman and Ezuwan Ismail.


In addition to the hype, media and guests also witnessed Jimmy Choo OBE presenting the Mercedes-Benz Stylo Fashion Lifetime Achievement Award to Dato’ Sri Dr Ng Yen Yen for her contributions to the country's fashion industry.
