Shah Alam, 1st June 2010 – Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia Berhad (Carlsberg Malaysia) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dato’ Chin Voon Loong as Deputy Managing Director with effect from 1st June 2010.

Dato’ Chin, aged 53, has been with Carlsberg for 23 years. He has been involved in overseeing the corporate, financial and commercial aspects of Carlsberg Malaysia. He has accumulated a wealth of experience in the beer industry. He has held the positions of Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary, Commercial Director and Executive Director, Corporate Affairs prior to his promotion as Deputy Managing Director. His expertise in corporate strategies and governance led him to be appointed on the boards of several Group companies including Carlsberg Marketing Sdn Bhd, Luen Heng F&B and Carlsberg Singapore Pte. Ltd. Dato’ Chin is also a Member of the Governing Council of the Confederation of Malaysian Brewers Berhad and he holds directorships in breweries in Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Nepal and Taiwan.

Deputy Managing Director

Dato’ Chin Voon Loong, aged 53, a Malaysian, was appointed to the Carlsberg Malaysia Board on 1 April 2003.

Dato’ Chin graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Systems and Management from The City University, London and is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He is also a Chartered Accountant with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants, an Associate Member of the Malaysian Institute of Taxation, Affiliate of The Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (MAICSA) and a Member of the Institute of Public Relations Malaysia.

Dato’ Chin has worked with the Company for 23 years. He has held the position of Chief Financial Officer and subsequently, as Commercial Director. He was also previously the Company Secretary of the Company and a Member of the Audit Committee. Prior to his current role as the Deputy Managing Director, he held the position of Executive Director-Corporate Affairs.

Dato’ Chin holds directorships in Lion Brewery (Ceylon) PLC (Sri Lanka), South East Asia Brewery Ltd (Vietnam), International Beverage Distributors Ltd (Vietnam), Gorkha Brewery Pte Ltd (Nepal), Carlsberg Distributors Taiwan Limited, (Taiwan) and Carlsberg Cottingham Ltd (Taiwan). Dato’ Chin is also a Member of the Governing Council of the Confederation of Malaysian Brewers Berhad and also serves on the Board of several private companies within the Group including Carlsberg Singapore Pte Ltd, Carlsberg Marketing Sdn Bhd and Luen Heng F & B Sdn Bhd.
