The Fun Starts at the Sunburst KL '08
Tuborg's first sponsorship in Malaysia's music arena was the inaugural Sunburst KL '08 in March. It was the largest outdoor multi-genre music festival with 28 live acts across four stages. The music event was complemented by a line-up of local and international musicians and bands. The festival saw a huge turnout of 13,000 music fans whilst the Tuborg beer garden set-up at the festival grounds recorded good beer sales.
Global Music Festival in Europe
Tuborg sponsored a Global Music Festival Campaign in July and August as a strategic exposure of the brand's involvement in big music festivals around the world.
The sponsored rock music festivals in Europe, included Roskilde Festival in Copenhagen, Denmark, one of the world's largest dance music festival, Global Gathering UK and UK's largest rock event, the Reading Festival. Tuborg's presence in the global music and concert events contributed to the high entries to the Malaysia's Tuborg online contest as well as attracted high traffic to the Tuborg's official website www.thefunstartshere.tv
On the Malaysian music scene, Tuborg also sponsored two music events - DJ Josh Wink, one of the more prominent DJs of tribal forms of techno and house music in U.S and LIL JON, the Godfather of Crunk, both performed live in KL for the first time. These sponsorships reinforced Tuborg's association with contemporary music and established Tuborg as the definitive beer brand for music events and concert goers in KL!
