Premium Beer Carlsberg Tees-off Prestigious Golf Experience

Carlsberg’s sponsorship of the Maybank Malaysian Open 2012 is yet another superb avenue for the most preferred beer brand in Malaysia to support the development of Malaysian golf at the country’s most prestigious golf tournament that offers an increased prize fund of USD 2.5 million. Carlsberg will tee-off a number of engaging consumer promotions and exciting activities that promise unique experience to consumers.

Carlsberg has over the years strengthened its market leader position and cultivated an ardent consumer base by reaching out to the golfing fraternity through the Malaysian Golf Open, the region’s leading national open as well as via the Carlsberg Golf Classic, the nation’s longest running amateur golf tournament. Such endeavours have today solidified Carlsberg’s market leadership in the golf segment and the choice of high-end and exclusive golf clubs around the country.

Carlsberg and the Malaysian Open go back to 2001 when the brand was presented as the title sponsor for five years until 2005. Carlsberg continued its sponsorship as main sponsor in the following years and last year, the brand signed up another five-year sponsorship of the Maybank Malaysian Open, from 2011 to 2015. Carlsberg is probably the longest standing sponsor of the national open.

Consumer Promotions

Carlsberg consumers will be rewarded with entrance tickets to the MMO when they take part in Carlsberg promotions at participating outlets and golf clubs around the country.  In the Klang Valley, customers can get a four-day season pass to the tournament or a Carlsberg golf umbrella for every purchase of three jugs (while stocks last).

A daily Grand Lucky Draw at 5pm will take place at the Beer Garden where consumers who have purchased 6 cans of Carlsberg stand a chance to win Callaway equipment and one year supply of Carlsberg.

Daily Carlsberg Hour
While the lucky draw is on-going, a daily Carlsberg Hour from 5pm till 6pm also allow consumers to purchase 6 cans of Carlsberg at a reasonable price while being rewarded with a packet of golf tees and a lucky draw ticket.
